Questions to consider, if this is your audience and purpose—
What kind of essay do you then need to write? What will the tone sound like? What other pieces of writing do you imagine your essay being similar to? Should your essay to be three-pronged, or more narrative and personal?
What kinds of things do you need to do in your essay? Do you imagine your essay being in two parts? four? What will each part accomplish?
What does your audience typically value? What will you need to explain and what will your audience already know? Does your audience appreciate brevity? long-windedness? humor? seriousness?
