- What are your assessment criteria for a "good essay," specific to the type of essay you are writing? List them here, and be particular; instead of writing "structure" or "tone," say what the structure or tone should be or do. Instead of writing "citations," explain what kind of citations, how they should be included, and what purpose they should serve.
- What do you see as the audience and purpose of this essay? Why did you make this decision?
- What risks did you take in this draft? How did it feel to take these risks and how do you think it turned out?
- How does this draft stand up to your essay assessment criteria? Be specific. You need not point to every criteria, but use the list as a lens from which to evaluate this draft.
- What would you do if you had more time to work on this draft?
- Taking into account your answer to the above questions, what kind of response would you like from me at this point?

Essay Cover Letter
Your cover letter should be included in the same document as your essay. The easiest way to do this might to put your cursor at the top of the first page and click "Insert page break."
